Ask Andrew Carnegie to build the Bridge

from the Blair Democrat Newspaper  August 1917

The Democrat reported that Andrew Carnegie, the famed philanthropist, had been approached and seemed receptive to a suggestion that he build a bridge across the Missouri east of Blair.  The Democrat said this would mean bringing the Lincoln Highway through Blair, along with perhaps 100,000 tourists a year in the future.
